The Mekong River which begins in China flows along the border of Northern Thailand and Laos, continuing on through Cambodia and Vietnam. It is known as the lifeblood of Southeast Asia. We traveled by slowboat from Chiang Khong, Thailand to Luang Prabang, Laos over two days, spending the night in the tiny riverside village of Pak Beng.
